About the Doctor

Dr. Austin Shaw
Doctor of Chiropractic and Certified Chiropractic Acupuncturist

Dr. Shaw is a licensed Chiropractic Physician and is certified as a Chiropractic Acupuncturist and as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He graduated from Salisbury University with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. During his undergraduate, Dr. Shaw was an intern with a chiropractor in Maryland that specialized in the care of athletes and the general population, which is when he knew he wanted to pursue a lifelong career helping others prevent injuries and find relief.

After graduation, Dr. Shaw worked at a chiropractic clinic in Glen Burnie, Maryland while completing other prerequisites for acceptance to the National University of Health Sciences (NUHS). He graduated as a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) at the NUHS Florida Campus in Pinellas Park in 2016. While Dr. Shaw was finishing his final year at NUHS, he was the sole selection from his graduating class for a clinical rotation at Bay Pines VA Healthcare System. He was honored to treat our country’s veterans while gathering valuable experience in a multidisciplinary setting. Dr. Shaw not only graduated NUHS with his DC but he also met and married his wife during his studies, who is a fifth-generation Dunedin native.

Dr. Shaw worked for four years at a high-volume chiropractic clinic in Tampa, Florida. During this time, he had an overwhelming urge to bring a more personal treatment approach to his community. This inspiration and vision led him to establish Dunedin Chiropractic & Acupuncture.

A Chiropractic Career Inspired By Athletics

Dr. Shaw’s athletic background started when he was a child. He was in club soccer during his middle and high school years, and he also ran mid-distance for track during the winter and spring months throughout his high school years. During his time as an athlete, he experienced multiple injuries, which is when he was introduced to the world of physical therapy. Although he had great experiences during the rehab process, it was a severe hamstring strain that ultimately ended his soccer career before college started.
